January 9th: Hitting/Fielding Camp begins for 10th-12th after school in South gym.
January 10th: Hitting/Fielding camp begins for Freshmen before school 7:15 am South gym.
January 29th: DCHS Baseball Expo at the Douglas County Fairgrounds indoor arena. This is a fundraiser camp for 8 t0 14 year olds.
February 10th: Begin turning in $150 Participation fee and physicals to Mrs. Shawcroft in the Athletic office.
February 24th: Deadline to turn in $150 Participation fee and physical forms to the Athletic office.
February 27th: First day of tryouts.
If we can practice outdoors: Returning Varsity players, Seniors, and Juniors report to the DCHS baseball field and be ready to go by 3:20 pm. Sophomores and Freshmen report to Metzler field #3 and be ready to go by 3:25 pm. All grade levels will practice until dark.
If indoors: All grade levels report to the South gym and be ready to go by 3:15 pm. Finish by 6:00 pm. Or, 3:15 to 5:15 pm if we need to yield to the Lacrosse team practicing in the South gym at 5:00 pm. If the weather is iffy…you may go to the dchuskiesbaseball.net web site or look on the baseball Twitter account “Baseball Rundown” to see if practice will be indoors or outdoors. The decision is usually made by 2:30 pm. FYI: IF YOUR $150 OR YOUR PHYSICAL HASN’T BEEN TURNED IN, YOU WON’T BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND TRY-OUTS OR PRACTICE.
February 29th: Final cuts are made. If you don’t make the team, you will be reimbursed your $150 Participation fee. However, if you quit the team later, you will not receive a refund.

March 3rd:
A. Hit-A-Thon to take place at 10:00 am. Practice for those players that opted to raise money by sponsors that have pledged a dollar amount based on the distance of an individual’s furthest batted ball.
B. The DCSD Mandatory Parents/Coaches meeting will take place in the South building cafeteria at 2:00 pm for all players making the team. This is the deadline for the $200 equipment/uniform replacement and miscellaneous baseball fee. Equipment/uniform fee checks should be made out to the Diamondbackers. This is also the deadline to turn in Banner Sponsor money and flat donation money for the Hit-A-Thon.
March 6th: $200 is due from those individuals who participated in the Hit-A-Thon and were pledged money based on the distance of their furthest batted ball.
March 10: Scrimmage – All levels. Varsity @ Cherry Creek, JV @ Legend, Soph @DCHS, Frosh @ Metzler. Times TBA.
March 26th: Spring Break trip to Arizona for up to 16 players and 4 coaches.
March 29th – April 1st: Players and coaches return from Arizona.
April 5th: 1st Varsity Game vs. Falcon High School @ DCHS (3:30 pm)
April 9th: Continental League Play begins. Varsity vs. Legend High School @ DCHS (4:00 pm)
May 2nd: Continental League play ends. Varsity vs. Castle View (4:00 pm)
May 14th: Baseball Banquet in the North building Commons (6:00 pm)
